A pleasant morning this morning if you were bundled properly. I sat outside in a deck chair and enjoyed the morning while watching the sunrise. Out Dachshund dog, Schnitzle, even came out onto the deck with me a little before light and wandered around a bit.

I dug out an old 50mm,  f1.8 manual focus lens for my Nikon yesterday and took this picture with it. Besides focusing manually when I use it I also have to set my exposure manually. It’s all pretty simple though and not hard at all, especially since I have my cameras histogram to help me judge exposure.

A friend of mine came by yesterday and we took a drive out to Port Mackenzie, about 30 miles from my home. Got a good close view of Anchorage across the Knik Arm. There is definitley some good photo taking opportunities out there but I’ll need to wait until spring, I think, when there is more color. Everything is dirty and gray now.
