This is our home about an hour before the sun peeked over the mountains in the background this morning. Really cold, minus 8, but I’m thinking it will get much colder this winter. One thing’s for sure, I didn’t hang around outside this morning waiting for the sun to rise.
Tuckered Grandson

This is Brylan, Jenny’s fourth in line out of five. She took this picture of him on Halloween, still dressed up in his Duck Costume.
She put this picture on her MySpace page and I kind of lifted it. I hope she doesn’t mind. I think it is pretty cute and quite humorous. He was one tired little trick or treat quacker.
Wasilla Life

A pretty typical winter scene around Wasilla, and nearly all of Alaska for that matter. Plow trucks like this are a real necessity here. They keep the roads clear for school buses, commuters, and emergency vehicles. Not to mention people who just like to drive around in the snow.
This picture was taken on the Palmer-Wasilla extension near the Home Depot store. The Palmer-Wasilla Extension highway was completed 3 years ago and helps to divert traffic away from the…uh, ……hmmm,…..uh,…..well, I was going to say the downtown area of Wasilla but Wasilla doesn’t really have a definite downtown area, it just kind of spreads out from a central area of sorts.
Let’s just say this highway is a great help in diverting traffic and leave it at that.
